We are broken recordz, a product of a Johannesburg based musical project started in 2013. This project has evolved into a DJ duo consisting of music enthusiats Ruald Kruger aka KRU and Karl Fritzenkötter.
The duos mutual love for underground music, people and events resulted in the creation of the broken recordz brand which has developed into a multi-faceted business servicing the music and events industries.
Under the broken recordz label Welcome to the Suburbs, Deep Resonance and The Factory were created, as a platform for up and coming Dj’s to relay their passion and skill to the underground scene in Johannesburg.
Their distinctive style and contagious energy has garnered a reputation of excellence in their performance and commitment to delivering fresh and innovative sets consistantly.
Their knowledge of the inteicasies of music and descerning ear have engenderred respect among their peers and audience alike. Their willingness to engage and commitment to growing the underground scene has united music lovers and opened the chanels of discussion, bringing the conversation to those interested in an accessable way.
Their style of music includes; Deep House, Tech House and Techno. Beyond delivering an electrifying experience for the audience they enjoy themselves while challenging each other to remain up to date and ahead of the grade.
Their passion for mature underground music makes each set an audible pleasure. Their sound often flaunts deep driving baselines, topped with melodic grooves and beguiled vocals. Each set is a progressive journey, meticulously constructed and designed with intent.
In the last two years, this duo has played alongside some of JHB’s best DJ’s in the underground music scene and have also been on the line up, as supporting acts, for big International artists, including; Bas Amro, Betoko, Filterheadz, Tiger Stripes & Geschwister Schumann.
